Meals and Snacks at the Preschool

Breakfast:

We feel very strongly that every child should have a hearty, healthy breakfast every morning. Thinking and learning require a lot of energy, and if children do not eat enough low-GI food in the morning, they become tired and irritable. Oatmeal, maize porridge, and Maltabella are served on rotation.

Breakfast is served from 07:45 every morning.

Snacks at 10:00:

At 10:00, a healthy sandwich and fruit are served. The main consideration for this is to ensure that all children receive a healthy snack at 10:00.

Please ensure the school is aware of any allergies. We want to make our children’s diet truly healthy, one that can form the basis for a lifelong lifestyle. Sugar, fats, artificial colors, and flavorings are completely avoided. For the sake of healthy teeth, fresh fruit juices are also not served. Filtered water is freely available to the children. Children may bring any fresh fruit or vegetables to school, as well as sandwiches.

We kindly ask for your cooperation in this regard.

Lunch: Lunch is served between 11:45 (toddlers) and 12:30 (4- to 6-year-olds). Our approach to lunch is the same. We use good quality meat (lean mince, chicken, and beef). We want our children to enjoy a balanced meal every day. We are very aware that many parents, due to long working hours, find it difficult to always provide a balanced meal every day. Mealtime takes place on the veranda with set tables. We pray and give thanks for our food, emphasizing good table manners. Children have the right to make choices while considering a balanced meal. The menu consists of a meat dish, one cooked vegetable, and a salad. Pasta, rice, and mashed potatoes are alternated.

Afternoon Snack:

At 15:00, a sandwich and fruit are served. Encourage your children to eat everything. This is a life attitude that will serve them well when they are adults one day.
